Editorial Policy

  1. yPolitics as a company is impartial and non-partisan, we have no party affiliations and do not take any stances on any issues. However, we give writers lots of freedom and bandwidth to express their ideas, which are frequently politically affiliated.
  2. yPolitics aims to facilitate a range of ideas and viewpoints, cemented in the belief that young people should be exposed to different opinions and have their own opinions challenged.
  3. yPolitics as a company has zero tolerance for any articles that express radical, violent or extreme views. These will be flagged by our editors, and the ultimate decision of what can be published is down to the senior editorial staff and company leadership.
  4. All views expressed in articles are that of the author solely, and do not represent the views of other authors or yPolitics as a company.
  5. yPolitics is not a campaigning platform, therefore articles do not and cannot include links to: petitions, donation links, encouragement to contact an elected representative or any other campaigning related material.
  6. We have a strict ban on the use of AI to write articles.
  7. yPolitics maintains light editorial touch. We believe that the journalists of the future won't create their best work if they have to stick to strict guidelines. The aim of editors is to correct obvious mistakes; things like issues with grammar and spelling, factcheck and not change the overall style or direction of articles (although in some instances this might happen).
  8. We accept a wide range of guest essays, whether we approach the individual for an essay or they approach us. The goal is to bridge the gap between young people and new and exciting ideas. Again, like all articles, these will likely hold political views and standpoints. But these do not reflect on yPolitics.

If you spot any inaccuracies or mistakes in articles or believe an article breaches our editorial policy, please get in contact with us and we will endeavour to clarify and correct any issues.
